Food Waste

Food scraps and expired foods can be composted at home to reduce household waste and capture nutrients for gardening or soil amendment. Logan Landfill and the Bozeman Convenience Site are not equipped to include food waste with compost, but it is accepted as household trash. Fee-based curbside food waste collection is available for some Gallatin County residents. See our Food Waste page for more information.

Biosolids

Logan Landfill accepts biosolids from the City of Bozeman and Manhattan wastewater treatment facilities. This material is mixed with wood chips and included as part of our compost used for the top layer of closed sections of the landfill.
